FAQs

  • In short no, think of it this way. Those retail pool stores are in business to sell chemicals and products. At Bass Pool Pros we are not tied to any certain chemical company. We only recommend what you need and what we believe in.

  • There are many different factors that lead to us recommending an acid wash, the most common are very high calcium hardness and cyanuric acid levels. Others are sever metal or calcium staining. If you’re not sure what to do next, just give us a call and we’d be happy to help.

  • There are a couple different variables here, we always look at what type of filter it is and how much debris gets in your pool. A typical rule of thumb is every 6 months for a cartridge filter. This can vary based your situation.

  • We recommend a minimum of 8 hours or more during the summer months depending on how big your pool is and how much exposure it has to the sun. If you are struggling with maintaining a chlorine reading, this can be one of your biggest factors.

  • Our water out here is so hard we are always fighting an uphill battle. For example, in places like Florida, they have to sometimes add calcium to the water to get chemicals to hold properly, we are the exact opposite. The water from the tap is so hard here it is already considered high in other areas of the country. We have ways to slow down the process of calcium build up, but anyone telling you they can guarantee to keep it away probably isn’t telling you the truth.

  • Depending on what is going on in your water you may experience algae blooms very quickly. Your filter pressure may spike, you should clean your filter shortly after to prevent any damage. If you are not sure what to do, give us a call, we’d love to help.

  • We have been around the business for quite some time. We grew up around the business and are backed by over 105 years of combined experience in our family. We truly evaluate each situation, work with you on if we need to go a more cost-effective route or if you want a more long-term fix to any issue. We will never recommend something you do not need.

  • Our weekly pool service includes brushing everything down, netting everything out, emptying all baskets, testing and balancing all chemicals, ensuring everything is running properly, and sending you a detailed report with a picture of your pool at the end of service.

  • We take a different approach to this. If you are looking for the cheapest guy out there, that is not us. We pride ourselves on being very detail-oriented to ensure we maximize the life of your equipment and protect the surface of your pool. With that being said, every pool is different, and every customer has certain details they want taken care of, we take all of these things in and tailor a service directly to what type of service you are looking for.

  • We take a different approach to this as well. For so long it has been normal to include chemicals in the pool industry, when chemicals are in-fact a consumable product. Why should you have to pay the same rate your neighbor does, who uses 3 times the amount of chemicals?

  • We always recommend weekly, even in the off-season. This way your pool stays dialed in all-year-long and any chemical imbalances or equipment issues can be caught right away. Saving you from even more costly repairs if some issues are not correctly promptly.

  • At Bass Pool Pros, we do not require anyone to sign contracts for monthly service. We believe in providing a good, honest, service and if you are not satisfied, you can cancel at anytime.

  • There can be many, many different reasons why your pool continues to turn green, even after you’ve shocked it. It’s tough to say without knowing anything about your situation. Give us a call and we would love to point you in the right direction!

  • This can mean many different things. You may need to backwash your filter, treat your pool with a clarifier or phosphate remover, or sometimes even a sand change or filter clean. It’s tough to say without seeing your whole situation. Give us a call, we’d love to point you in the right direction.
